This Sample is from a spool of Coats & Clark Twist Rayon Thread. Rayon is my favorite for embroidery and seeing it under a microscope makes you understand why it has such a smooth shiny finish.

This sample is from a spool of Sulky Rayon Thread. I checked many areas of this thread and could not find a loose fiber or loop any where.

This sample is from a spool of Sulky Metallic Thread that has an irredecent appearance. The structure of this thread fascinated me.

This sample is from a spool of Sulky Silver Metallic Thread, that appears very shiny. It honestly is like a strip of very thin tinsel.

This sample is from a cone of Corlicelli Stretch Nylon Thread. To the naked eye the fibers appeared all together. This thread maintains stretch and the loose fibers give you a very soft edge when serging.
